Q: Why does behaviour at work matter?
A: Because it drives outcomes that impact customers, employees, society. These outcomes can be financial and reputational. Behaviour can also drive future issues (‘behavioural risk’) or help to obtain better outcomes.
Q: What do we mean by culture, really?
A: Organisational culture is the sum of “how we typically do things here” – our behavioural patterns – in fact, all that drives behaviour at work. There are formal drivers, such as strategy, codes, policies and procedures, as well as informal drivers, such as collective beliefs, social norms, psychological safety, and dynamics between teams.
Q: How do you assess organisational culture or behaviour at work?
A: By acquiring a deeper understanding of the operational reality, through a combination of interviews with staff and leadership, a survey, observations of critical meetings, and studying formal drivers of behaviours. Granular insights in behavioural patterns and drivers are established by scientifically triangulating findings from the qualitative and quantitative data.
Q: How can you change behaviour at work?
A: By shaping a professional context that helps desired behaviours. First, we need to understand what aspects of “how we do things here” need to be improved. Second, we should seek to understand what aspects of people’s daily work contexts drive these. Addressing those drivers, when informed by behavioural science, will drive sustainable behavioural change.
Through the application of behavioural science, we help organisations to achieve better outcomes and prevent foreseeable problems for their business, employees, customers and society.

Change Strategy: we help organisations design and implement tailored change plans that address key behavioural drivers, to create lasting behavioural and cultural change.
